Growing New Limbs Is Possible

This is probably one of the craziest statements for the majority of people.

When we think of healing, we think of external aid through medication, surgery or radiation and chemo in case of cancer. These are the methods of healing we hear about most often and have experience with. But what would you say if I told you that scientists are spending more and more time with cell regeneration ie. growing cells to help reproduce?organs or even limbs? I think then you would say I am really crazy. Well, let’s take a look at the proof.

The image above is a time lapse picture of a newt as it regenerates a limb that was removed. It takes the newt 148 days to regrow the limb. That is bone, tissue, nervous system, blood vessels etc. That’s about 5 months. The newt is not alone.

Most of us have experimented with this process when we were kids. For instance, most of us have cut a worm in half only to be surprised that half of the worm continued to live. Experiments show, that a worm will regenerate it’s body on the part where the head is still alive. But newts and worms aren’t the only organisms?that regenerate. Researchers are actually testing to grow human organs in pigs.?But it doesn’t end there. In fact, at the time of writing this blog, the US National Library of Medicine cited 127,805 articles in medical journals about cell regeneration. The search for organ regeneration generated 40,188 results. ?Although these may seem a little far fetched, our cells are regenerating all the time.

Scar tissue will form when we cut ourselves. This is a regeneration process. Skin will regenerate when we scrape ourselves. Children up to the age of 10 have regrown finger tips with nails within a month. Adults have regrown toes and toe nails after gangrene was treated. Livers of rats have been shown to regenerate regularly. Regeneration is a natural process. Many more examples are cited in this wikipedia article.

Is it still unbelievable? Then review your own scrapes and cuts and how those were healed. The more you can let yourself believe these possibilities, the more mind power you?can activate to accelerate your own healing. That is of course, if you believe you can.
