Betty Perry is one of those delightful people who is always upbeat, positive and purposeful. This vibrant lady is healthy, smiling and full of life. Talking to her is like a breath of fresh air and energy. But this is the new Betty Perry. New and improved.
Betty Perry suffered a stroke in 1966, which left her with partial paralysis, a speech impairment and an outlook that she describes as ”terrible.” The stroke left her with her left leg dragging behind her as she walked. In fact, she wore corrective shoes and had to lock her knee when walking through a door so it wouldn't be caught in the door as it closed behind her.
”My memory was lousy, I had vision problems and I was depressed,” she said. ”I ate all the time.” Her weight ballooned to 175. She was frustrated that life had dealt her such a blow in the prime of life.
”Doctors kept me alive and got me to the point where I was able to get around,” she said. But they told her there was nothing more they could do. They said she had brain damage and was lucky to be alive. All of that went on for 14 years.
But that was then. Betty's condition no longer exists.
In fact, there is not one sign of any of the earlier mentioned conditions. Even a neurosurgeon with all the modern technology and scanners would not be able to detect any past symptoms mentioned above.
Betty, a former operating room nurse and former wife of a St. Petersburg orthopedic surgeon, attributes her recovery to the mental techniques and visualization she learned through the Silva Method program. Her memory is astonishing. Her memory amazes her friends. She can also dance for hours, as she proved at a convention she attended with her husband.
Betty learned the techniques in 1980 through the Silva Method, an international mind development program?taught throughout the world. It worked so well for her that she became a Silva instructor herself, teaching evenings and weekends in Brevard County four times a year. Betty is sharing what she learned with hundreds of others who want to recover from physical ailments but accomplish many other goals for themselves and others.
The Silva Method is a comprehensive system developed in the 1950s incorporating techniques which were later used as the foundations of NLP, manifestation, creative visualization and many other programs mushrooming in the 1990s and onward. The program integrates memory improvement, decision-making, positive thinking, affirmations and many techniques to improve every aspect of your life.
The author of the article shares how she used the Silva Method to overcome her fear of flying of 30 years, after trying more than a dozen other systems over the years which didn't work. Others have attracted new and better jobs, over come drug addiction, earned more money, attracted their lifelong partner, quit smoking, created health for family members, attracted new business and created new inventions that changed millions of lives. However, the goal of the Silva Method is not just to achieve these goals and improve your mind but something much much greater – to consciously access your inner intelligence, the truth, which we call intuition.
Intuition is an innate ability, which we have learned to suppress by over emphasizing the logical part of our minds. Although rational thinking is an important part of a whole human being's thinking, successful people around the world all claim that intuition is the real key to making the right choices in life. But don't listen to me, listen to the great people:
Albert Einstein is quoted to have said, "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind as a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." and "The only real valuable thing is Intuition."
Or Steve Jobs who said, "Don't let the noise of others drown out your inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become."
What do you want in your life?
