You don't have to believe everything you think.

Updated: Feb 5

I read that in a newsletter and thought, that is so smart!

Here I am talking about beliefs and how they become a part of us as children. Then here is this email that says, "Don't believe everything you think". Brilliant!

So, what's so brilliant about it? The idea that we are responsible for what we believe, no one else. Especially as adults.

We are responsible. That is, I Am Responsible for What I Believe! Say that to yourself, "I Am Responsible for What I Believe!" How does it feel?

Now this is very powerful, BUT it has one limitation...those subconscious beliefs we have, they are ongoing. And like the smartphone apps that clutter up your cell phone.

So, now what?

We have to dig down to get to the root of our beliefs. We really have to think about what we are thinking and believing. Sometimes however, we get lazy, or we get emotional and then KABOOM!, one of those thoughts becomes emotionally charged and is lodged into belief status. And if we aren't paying attention, it gets more and more attention and SPLAT! It is now a belief which will start driving our car. Yes, driving our car. Beliefs drive us. That's the game.

Ok, so now what?

So, next time you go through an emotionally charged situation, when the emotions have settled, take some time to reevaluate what just happened and what thoughts seem to really trigger you.

That's the place to start digging.

Begin your journey with the Silva Method.

Wishing you abundance, joy, and ease,
