Us men thrive on challenges and tests, using each accomplishment as a trophy for our self-esteem. These trophies shape our behaviors, becoming our armor against criticism and doubt. But beneath the surface, we often sense a grain of truth in those cutting remarks.
After battles, we return to our den, where partners mend our wounded pride, readying us for the next skirmish. The story of a knight's battle still holds true, though the battlefield has shifted to workplace politics, sports, careers, and camaraderie.
We store these challenges and achievements as emotionally charged memories in our brains. Our left-brain-dominant, analytical thinking revisits these memories to bolster our self-esteem. We become stronger but more oblivious to how this affects our surroundings.
Our relentless pursuit of goals can lead to pushiness, dismissiveness, and competitiveness—masks for our low self-esteem. We live one-sided lives, trampling over beauty and even resorting to bullying to succeed. This is our left ego brain in overdrive.
But what if there's a way to transform these battles into opportunities for growth?
It starts with developing whole-brain thinking. It means nurturing the creative, emotionally intelligent right side of your brain. Achieving this balance is essential for a fulfilled life. It's like adding an extra engine to your car, doubling its power and unleashing your compassion, creativity, and collaboration.
You can start with just 5 minutes of daily meditation. Meditation enhances your right-brain functionality and optimizes your dual-cameral brain for whole-brain thinking. Think about Einstein, Elon Musk, Edison, and DaVinci—they harnessed their whole brain to revolutionize the world with inventions (right brain) and turned those inventions into success through their business acumen (left brain).
Join us in the next Silva Method course, where you receive a crash course in 20 techniques to develop whole-brain thinking. You'll not only be challenged and trained but also become more aware of what you've been missing until now.
